I had a tough time titling this blog because this photo session had two things happening. The primary focus of this photo shoot was little Miss A. She wanted some professional photos for a talent scout. Then, we also did some family work while we were out and about. So, as you’ll see we have A LOT more photos of Miss A! Maybe I should of called it Austin Tween Photography. Well, I am just as honored as can be to have had the opportunity to work with the Gray Family. Mom and I taught together last year and she contacted me about this session. I LOVE working with people I know, I just feel so special getting a little insight into their family.

Anyway, this sessions was awesome. First off, you could really feel the love between these three. I could tell they were a tight knit group. Secondly, it is SUCH A DELIGHT to work with older children. Miss A was enthusiastic, ready for anything, and could have posed all day. She was mature, but also still a kid all at the same time. I could go on, and on, and on, but alas you are probably here for the photos.

Oh, and one more thing…

Let me say I rarely get the opportunity to work with older children. That is, until this weekend. I had four sessions in a row with middle/high school aged children and they were ALL a delight! It eases my fears about my children getting older!

Without much further ado, I present the Gray Family!

I’m going to be watching out for this one on my tv. She is beautiful, outgoing, and has an awesome personality. Watch out Hollywood! Thanks Gray family for an amazing time!!

Austin Anniversary Photography: South Congress & Long Center

This photo shoot was SO MUCH fun! The lovely couple was excited and willing to have fun and take some fun photos.

Emily and Jason were married 5 years ago and looking to get some fresh new photos. I think that is awesome, so here we have some 5 year anniversary photos! What a great idea you two.

We started out on South Congress and just made our way up and down the street looking for interesting buildings and cool textures. There are SO MANY great places to take photos on South Congress. I think we could have probably stayed there a lot longer, but alas we were battling daylight and wanted to get some skyline photos.

Next, we headed to Emma Long Center Park, where there is the most picture-esque skyline settings. We got some great shots with downtown behind us, and snuck in some nature photos too. I absolutely love this park, so many fun places to go.

It was a great evening of photography. I LOVED working with Emily and Jason, what a great couple! They really knew how to have fun and seemed to enjoy the entire process of portraits. It was great working with them.

Congrats you two on 5 years of marriage!

We started by Hotel San Jose. Awesome place to go for a drink and they have a great wall too!




I just love all these different textures and colors you can find in and around South Congress. 

Rot Rally weekend was in full swing, but SOCO wasn’t too crowded.

Austin Senior & Family Photographer: Driftwood, TX

I was excited about this photo shoot for many different reasons. For starters, my husband and I got married in Driftwood, TX so I always love having an excuse to head out there. Then, I learned this is a family with two boys. I myself have one son and am expecting another late this summer. I have thus found myself fascinated with the all boy families.

Well I could not have asked for more. I drove right past my wedding venue en-route to the shoot, and the boys were just delightful. Oh, did I mention they have the most BEAUTIFUL land. I love it out there.

There was actually two parts to this photo shoot. One was for senior portraits and the other was for family portraits. I had a blast with both. Curtis (the senior) is a self taught guitar player, and also very handy. He helped build some of the structures he is next to. How cool is that? Then there was Jack. Jack told it like it is, and was absolutely hilarious. He wanted to make sure and get some photos with his chickens and in the trees. He was right on, it made for some great shots.

There were just way too many cool places to take pictures on this shoot. The land was gorgeous, the trees were amazing, and the family was pretty spectacular too! I had so much fun. Thanks for an amazing shoot, and congrats Curtis on the upcoming graduation!

I’ll start with the senior portraits. My husband loves this shot by the pool, he told me to tell Curtis he has his debut album cover already made.

I might have gotten carried away with the guitar, but I loved it.



And now for the whole crew. There were WAY too many photos to chose from, I just liked the way they were all looking at each other in this one.

Sweet, sweet brothers. 

Jack was such a character. He is one funny guy.

I met makeup artist Denise Wedderburn of Makeup by IrieJade at an earlier photo shoot that I did this year. Since then we have stayed in contact and we eventually put together a photo shoot for her which highlighted Denise’s fantastic makeup artistry. Denise brought two beautiful models to the shoot Chonda Perry and Rhonda Miller who did a fantastic job. We met at Mayfield Park and had a great time. The models were fun to work with and braved the chilly January weather. Fortunately the weather held out for us and things turned out beautifully. Here are some sample images from the afternoon.

This was an especially exciting photo shoot on multiple levels. For starters I have known this family since birth and thus was SO excited to have the privilege to take their family photos. Secondly, it was such a dynamic group. There were two grandchildren, their parents, their aunt and uncle, the grandparents, the great grandmas, and a beloved dog! It was like 5 photo shoots in one! Oh, and the last reason was, of course, the BEAUTIFUL kiddos. Love them, so precious. Anyway, here are some shots from the morning. We did the photo shoot on UT campus near the big fountain. So many pretty trees and green spaces. Thanks for a lovely time, love you guys :)

Tamara contacted me a couple months ago looking for some fabulous portraits for her birthday. I was really excited to have the opportunity to work with Tamara. She was SO much fun, and really went all out for her photos. She looked absolutely amazing. Her make-up was done by Denise Wedderburn, who did an awesome job! We started out inside for some more intimate shots, and then headed outside for some fun shots in nature. We went to Shoal Creek for our outside location. Here are a few of my favorites from the evening, isn’t she beautiful!
